Browns sign Armanti Edwards, Reid Fragel

The Cleveland Browns signed former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Armonti Edwards, signing offensive lineman Reid Fragel off the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad.

Wide receiver Travis Benjamin was placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Wide receiver Tori Gurley was signed to the practice squad.

Edwards is a former third-round draft pick from Appalachian State who has five receptions for 121 yards and a seven-yard punt return average and a 19.7 kickoff return average.

Fragel is a 6-foot-8, 305-pound rookie out of Ohio State who was selected by Cincinnati in the seventh round and spent the first eight weeks of the season on the Bengals’ practice squad.

Fragel was a tight end his first three seasons at OSU before converting to tackle for his senior season.
