Browns cut troubled Davone Bess

The Cleveland Browns cut troubled wide receiver Davone Bess today along with wide receiver Brian Tyms and linebacker Paul Hazel.

Bess was arrested at Fort Lauderdale International Airport in January after being placed on the reserve-non-football injury list during the season. In social media, Bess has posted photographs of what appeared to be marijuana. He also posed for a naked self-photo.

Bess recently told The Cleveland Plain Dealer that he has been experiencing personal issues and checked into a mental health facility at one point.

"I haven't talked to the Browns [front office], and I don't know how they feel about me," Bess told the newspaper. "I see they made changes, and change is often good. I did have communication with [offensive coordinator] Kyle Shanahan. He sent out a group message [to the offensive players] and I replied … I'm looking forward to the season and getting better on and off the field."

In 2013, his first season with Cleveland, Bess caught 42 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns.

The Miami Dolphins apparently didn't mention Bess' issues when they traded him to the Browns.
