Broncos will be battle-tested against Chiefs

The Denver Broncos schedule hasn’t been that tough so far, but they’ve definitely made every game look like rocket science. The lone team they have beaten with a winning record is the Houston Texans (6-4,) but Brock Osweiler’s lack of talent this season doesn’t make his squad a tough team to beat.

The Broncos barely got through the struggling Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints. They’ve lost three games this season – two of them to winning teams (the Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders.)

With a big home match up against the Chiefs this Sunday, the Broncos will be tested hard against one of the NFL’s elite teams.

Though the Broncos season series swept K.C. in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Kansas City split with Denver last year and were a non Jamaal Charles fumble away from probably sweeping them altogether last year.

Everyone will remember the Chiefs and Broncos Week 10 meeting a year ago. Everyone was sure that was it for Peyton Manning, even though he DID become the NFL’s all-time passing yards leader.

Thing is, the Chiefs have a similar team: They’re reliant on the ground game but run such conservative offenses despite a pair of elite pass-catchers (Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas in Denver, Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin in K.C.)

Both teams are loaded with pass-rushing phenoms: Von Miller, Derek Wolfe and DeMarcus Ware on the Broncos. Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson and Justin Houston in Kansas City.

Denver has a lockdown secondary with Chris Harris Jr, Aqib Talib, Bradley Roby and T.J. Ward while the Chiefs are carried by Eric Berry and Marcus Peters.

Sunday’s going to be a tough and intense matchup for both teams, and this will easily be Denver’s toughest test of 2016.
