Brewers activate Braun

The Milwaukee Brewers activated outfielder Ryan Braun for Monday's game against the Reds, but third baseman Aramis Ramirez was put back on the disabled list for the second time this season because of a left knee injury.

Braun, 29, had been sidelined since June 9 with a right thumb contusion, and he was not expected to return until at least Thursday. He was not in the starting lineup Monday, however.

He is hitting .304 with nine home runs this season.

Ramirez aggravated his knee injury while making a diving stop on Saturday. He missed nearly a month in April and May with a left knee sprain. He is hitting .271 with five home runs in 54 games this season.
