With Randy Moss, the New England Patriots gained a deep threat down the field that helped break NFL records between Tom Brady and Moss. The deep passing game was a key addition back in the Moss days and now with Brandin Cooks, that deep threat has emerged once again.

What Randy Moss was to Tom Brady back in the record breaking 2007 season, Brandin Cooks can be in the upcoming years for the New England Patriots’ franchise. Head coach Bill Belichick clearly felt that Cooks could bring something to the New England Patriots. Seems like an easy decision.

In Cooks’ young career, he has already accumulated 215 catches for 2,861 including 20 touchdowns. This was over the course of three seasons with the New Orleans Saints. Information courtesy of Pro Football Reference.

Young, fast and full of potential, Brandin Cooks certainly has the ability to add another dimension to the New England Patriots’ franchise. No question Cooks should be a no-brainer in New England. Now, fans must wait to see if Cooks, Brady and Belichick can utilize his full potential on the New England offense.
