Blue Jays recall left-handers Crawford, Laffey

The Blue Jays added left-handed relievers Aaron Laffey and Evan Crawford to the 25-man roster Tuesday, optioning catcher Yan Gomes and right-handed pitcher Chad Beck to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Crawford has a 7.36 ERA as a middle reliever in two brief stints with the Blue Jays this season. Laffey should fill the long-relief role. The 27-year-old has pitched for the Indians, Mariners and Yankees in the past three seasons with a career 4.34 ERA.
