Bills promote Mark Asper, cut Colin Brown

The Buffalo Bills promoted Mark Asper to the active roster from the practice squad and cut former starting offensive lineman Colin Brown.

Asper has spent the first six weeks of the season on the practice squad.

The 6-foot-7, 325-pound Oregon product entered the NFL as a sixth-round Bills draft pick last year. He spent portions of his rookie season on the 53-man rosters of the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bills signed offensive lineman Bryant Browning and linebacker Jacquies Smith to the practice squad and released defensive end Jamie Blatnick.
