Bill Murray celebrates Cubs victory from the stands in Wrigley

Bill Murray is known for two things: Comedy and his love of the Chicago Cubs. So when the Cubs were set to play Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Wrigley Field, there was no doubt Murray would be there supporting his team.

When the game ended in a 1-0 Cubs victory, the television crew made sure to find Murray cheering in the stands.

Murray’s Cubs fandom runs deep, so deep in fact that he owns one of the coolest Cubs-themed t-shirts we’ve ever seen.

Yes, that is Bill Murray wearing a t-shirt with a cartoon goat on it that reads “I ain’t afraid of no goat.” That photo, however, is not from Friday’s game at Wrigley. As the video shows, Murray opted for a button-up shirt and jacket this time around. Still, that’s a pretty appropriate shirt for the former Ghostbuster, no?

During Game 1 of the NLDS, Gozer the Destructor took the form of San Francisco Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto. Through seven innings, Cueto kept the Cubs off the board.

In the eighth, the Cubs pulled off the baseball equivalent of crossing the streams. Javy Baez hit a go-ahead solo home run to put his team ahead and give the Cubs the 1-0 lead in the series.
