Bengals' Green diagnosed with bruised knee

The Cincinnati Bengals breathed a sign of relief on Friday when it was learned that standout wide receiver A.J. Green has a knee bruise and not a more serious injury.

Green fell awkwardly during practice at the Bengals' training camp on Thursday when he was defended by cornerback Terance Newman on a deep pass thrown by quarterback Andy Dalton. Green walked off the field after he was examined by trainers.

"A.J. has a knee bruise," Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told Bengals.com on Friday. "We'll keep him out through the weekend and then we'll go from there."

Last season, Green had 95 catches for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns.
