Bears Defeat Jets, 27-19

The New York defense had no answer for Alshon Jeffery as he led the way to a win for the Bears over the Jets, 27-19, in East Rutherford.

Jay Cutler found the end zone for two touchdowns against the Jets on 23 of 38 passing for 225 yards and one fumble. On the Jets side, Geno Smith went 26 for 43 with 316 yards passing, one touchdown and two picks.

Matt Forte carried the ball 13 times for 33 yards in addition to six receptions for 43 yards. Jeffery was a highlight, pulling in eight passes for 105 yards.

The Chicago defense was the difference in the victory, giving up 114 yards rushing and 316 passing while taking back one interception for a touchdown. They brought down Smith for three sacks.

Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley had a productive game with 81 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Chris Ivory also had a good game with 52 receiving yards and 44 rushing.

The Bears will play host to the Packers (1-2) next week while the Jets play against the Lions (2-1), also at home.
