New Bears coach Trestman to hire Kromer as OC

New Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman began putting together his staff Wednesday by hiring former New Orleans Saints interim head coach Aaron Kromer as his offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, according to multiple reports.

Trestman was chosen as the Bears' head coach on Tuesday night after a second interview with club officials. He coached the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League for five years, leading them to two Grey Cup titles, and is a longtime former NFL assistant.

Kromer spent five years with the Saints after three years with Tampa Bay and four seasons with Oakland. He was in charge of the Saints' offensive line and running game and took over interim head-coaching duties this year in the wake of the bounty penalties that resulted in head coach Sean Payton sitting out the season.

Kromer and Trestman worked together with the Raiders when Oakland went to the Super Bowl in 2002. Trestman was the Raiders' quarterbacks coach.
