LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky forward Bam Adebayo was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week. Adebayo averaged 14.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in wins over Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.

Adebayo scored 16 points and snagged six rebounds against Vanderbilt and then scored 13 points and grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds against Texas A&M on Saturday. He led the team in rebounding and field goal percentage for the week, helping Kentucky win its 48th SEC regular season championship.

The freshman big averaged seven rebounds for most of the season, but Adebayo is averaging 11.2 rebounds per game in the Wildcats' last five games. He's collected at least six rebounds per game in the eight-game winning streak.

It's the second time this season Adebayo has won SEC Freshman of the Week and the 11th time this season a Kentucky player has won a weekly award.
