Armstrong's marathon results likely to be erased

The results tied to Lance Armstrong that are expected to be purged from the record books likely include his 2006 and 2007 New York City Marathon times and his 2008 Boston Marathon result, according to multiple reports.

New York Road Runners, a marathon organizer, said in a Wednesday statement that it expected to eliminate Armstrong's times after any potential appeals are settled, since the race follows any USADA rulings, a Runner's World report said.

Tom Grilk, executive director of the Boston Athletic Association, told Runner's World the Boston Marathon would act in similar fashion.

"We understand from USA Track & Field that they and we are required to follow the rulings of USADA in this area," read the statement.
