Angels' Weaver won't face Tigers Friday

Angels' ace and Cy Young candidate Jered Weaver will miss at least one start with right shoulder tendinitis.

Weaver (16-4, 2.86 ERA) was scratched from his scheduled start Friday against the Tigers and the Angels will decide when he'll next appear on the mound after evaluating his progress early next week.

The Angels adjusted their rotation for the three-game series with the Tigers and will start Ervin Santana, C.J. Wilson and Zack Greinke.

Weaver had his shoulder examined in Oakland on Wednesday. He was struck by a line drive in his throwing shoulder in his most recent start Sunday.
