Alex Cobb surrenders one run in win vs. Red Sox

Rays pitcher Alex Cobb earned a win Tuesday, giving up just one earned run on five hits and two walks in seven innings and striking out three in his team's 6-2 victory over the Red Sox.

Cobb (10-8) looked like he'd be in line for a hard-luck loss, as a fourth-inning RBI double represented the only run scored in the first seven innings, but the Rays offense was able to break through for five runs in the eighth. Cobb owns a 2.75 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 144:47 K:BB ratio in 160 1/3 innings. He's scheduled to face the Indians in Sunday's season finale.
