Adam Rosales keeps breaking his own record for the fastest home run trot
Oakland Athletics infielder Adam Rosales has never been one to take a leisurely stroll after hitting a home run. Quite the contrary, in fact, as Rosales has become famous for turning his round trippers into all-out sprints.
You might think that came to be because Rosales wasn’t always sure his baseball was leaving the yard. The reality though is that Rosales has kept the home run sprint since a young age because he felt awkward trotting and enjoys bringing a different energy to the game. Whatever the reasons, it’s definitely Rosales’ trademark now. To the point where he’s seemingly always in a race against himself, and sometimes he even wins.

A good example of that came on Saturday. After leading off the A’s 4-3 win against the Mariners with a home run, Rosales soared around the bases at his fastest clip yet.
Yes, people do keep track of this stuff. And yes, Rosales broke his own record for the fastest home run “trot” by clocking in at 15.90 seconds.
At least according to Statcast and MLB.com.

That would have been a photo finish if side-by-side.
As Cut 4’s Michael Clair notes, Rosales home run sprint was just .36 seconds slower than Charlie Blackmon‘s inside-the-park home run sprint on Friday. Blackmon has some decent speed himself, so that puts into perspective just how fast Rosales is moving.
Rosales never has any intention of taking his foot off the pedal, and that’s a pretty cool trademark to own.
