49ers re-sign CB Rose after Wright deal falls through

Cornerback Lowell Rose was re-signed by the San Francisco 49ers the day after a trade for Eric Wright was rescinded when the veteran failed a physical.

Rose, who was signed by the 49ers as an undrafted free agent and released July 19, received a three-year deal. He recorded 113 tackles and three interceptions in 36 games for Tulsa, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors as a senior.

Wright was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, but the 49ers have not indicated whether they'll be interested in signing him as a free agent. Head coach Jim Harbaugh declined to provide specifics on what caused Wright to fail his physical.
