Virginia Beach, VA, wide receiver Joseph White has generated some regional interest with offers coming in from N.C. State, East Carolina, Charlotte, Old Dominion and, of course, UNC.
The 6-1, 166 pounder Landsdowne High Schools star from the class of 2018 is working on building a relationship with those schools, including the Tar Heels, whom he describes his relationship as “lukewarm” at this time.
But White is still hoping he can get things picked up in the near future to get back on the Tar Heel radar.
Tar Heel Illustrated spoke to White on Monday to see exactly where things are with the Heels:
THI: So looking back on your sophomore year how do you think things ended up going?
White: I think I had a pretty good season, could have been better but looking ahead to next season.
THI: How exactly are things going with the Heels?
White: I actually haven't been in contact with them recently, but things could still pick back up.
THI: What do you know about the North Carolina program overall?
White: I know some about the school, not much but interested in learning more going forward.
THI: With North Carolina being one of your bigger offers, what would it mean to you for them to show more love?
White: I would like it, if they showed more interest, it would be good to get to know more about that program?
THI: Have you ever been to Chapel Hill?
White: I haven't been as a prospect, but I have been there before.
THI: What type of wide receiver/play-maker are you for your high school team?
White: I feel I am more of a perimeter type of wide-out but I can do whatever is asked of him.
THI: What are somethings you feel you can improve on to get more interest coming in?
White: I really feel this off-season I need to improve my overall strength, speed, and technique to get where I want to be.
THI: I see N.C. State and ECU, are schools that are on your list as well, how is your relationship coming along with those schools
White: I think things are going well, both of those are pretty good schools
THI: Are there any visits you have made recently?
White: I went to Old Dominion and liked it there.
