The national semifinal between Connecticut and Michigan State was still very much up in the air when the Huskies' Hasheem Thabeet threw an errant pass that was stolen by Raymar Morgan. The Spartans forward retrieved the ball, fed it to teammate Durrell Summers, who then streaked to the basket where he was challenged by UConn's Stanley Robinson. Then this happened:
Robinson actually made a great defensive play to partially block Summers' dunk, but the Michigan State sophomore powered it in for the dunk of the tournament. Watch the replays; it's so nasty it made me cringe.
Bill Raftery was calling the game on radio for Westwood One. If he didn't use the word "onions" immediately after that dunk, then my world view is shattered.
