Celtics' Ainge hiring son
After two seasons as coach of the Maine Red Claws in the NBA Developmental League, Austin Ainge is finalizing a deal to return to the Boston Celtics’ front office as a player personnel executive, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Ainge, the son of Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, will rejoin the organization where he had previously served as a scout.
Ainge was the first coach of the Red Claws, an expansion franchise in 2009. Maine finished 18-32 and in fifth place in the D-League’s Eastern Division this season.
