Ball Don't Lie - NBA

In the fourth quarter of Friday's Portland-Boston game, the Celtics' bench blew most of a 25-point lead. Needless to say, Kevin Garnett was not impressed. During a timeout, KG jawed at second-year forward Glen Davis before the starters returned to take care of business. After the conflict, Davis sulked at the end of the bench, fighting back tears.

Jeff Clark at CelticsBlog thinks KG and Big Baby will "hug it out" and be "better friends for it," but I'm still holding out hope that they'll fight after school down by the cemetery.

Thanks to Ryne, Ziller and The Hoop Doctors for working the weekend.

And then about 4 minutes later KG did his "down on all fours playing defense like a wild animal" thing which the ESPN cameras barely caught but Van Gundy certainly did... Jerryd Bayless was not particularly intimidated it didn't appear which is a good thing - if anyone has a better angle of Garnett "crawling at Bayless" as Van Gundy put it in absolute astonishment getting that on the blog would be great.

is he a fraud because he stole kobe's spotlight in the finals. And i did see KG play D on the rookie who I believe scored right in KG's face.

As I watched that game, I noticed that when KG plays defense and he faces his man, he always grabs the other dude's biceps and keeps him from moving. I can post screenshots if anyone needs them... He did it to LMA many times during the game.
    Is that legal?

Why do people blog on this when they can't respond to the article at hand. The subject was about Glen "Big Baby's" behavior and Kevin Garnett's admonishment of him. It is not about Kobe Bryant or whether this team is better than this one. Use your vitriolic comments and dim wit for another blog or one that is appropriate. Just because you all are basketball ball fans and believe me coming from Connecticut and and having lived all over New England, (I love the game, watch, the game, played the game, and know the game and its players) doesn't mean you have to act like little babies (kind of like Big Baby. Enough already. And yes KG is a leader and does what he can to keep the Celtics in contention to repeat as Champions.

Obviously, no one watched the last 4 minutes of the game when the starters came back. Again, they embarassed Portland with their defense. KG was a monster, u could see the blood/adrenaline flowing through his veins. he was all over the court. gimme a break, this is great basketball and entertainment

KEEP IT UP!!! Id like to see more conflict within the ranks of the Celtics. Everything they are was because of "gifts" from Celtic alumni...just pathetic really. Check out them T'Wolves!!! Their doin fantastic right? GREAT trade for both sides....-_-

Bottom Line KG, can't do it alone or he would have when he was with the T-Wolves, like all players you need a team to win with, lucky for him he finally found one, just like Kobe did in the past when he won three and this year whenhe wins again, Lakers are deeper this year than Boston, as long as they stay healthy, but we have to wait and see, season is still young and there are other teams out there that are hungry to win.

wow most you don't even seem to watch basketball. KG is a leader. Next the play right after he turned it over he dunk on them sillyousdunkums style. Then he got on all fours barking at bayless. Bayless scored that play down but who won the game? Finally my favorite was his off the ball defending on rudy f. Talking trash when rudy didn't even have the ball lol! If I was a gm and I was building a team around someone it would be kg or tim duncan 4 sure.

that's a veteran's job...on a good team its the players who are the police not the coach, you can bet big baby will work harder because of this

nuxy, you're absolutely right. Although the coach leads the team, the veteran (or in some cases, the dominant players like LeBron) take control of the team while on the floor. I'm sure Big Baby was caught up in the moment, which caused the tears..I'm also certain that he RESPECTS KG regardless of the issue at that moment.
