Player Notes
Matt Wieters (elbow) caught six innings Tuesday in an extended spring training game.

Advice: But the rehabbing catcher still hasn't been able to catch on back-to-back days due to lingering soreness in his surgically-repaired right elbow. Wieters seems doubtful to make his 2015 debut before late May or early June.

Matt Wieters admitted Sunday that he still feels occasional soreness in his surgically-repaired right elbow.

Advice: The Orioles are viewing it as part of the recovery process, but Wieters' absence has clearly dragged on longer than expected. He's still catching games at extended spring training and a date for him to begin a rehab assignment hasn't been set yet. At this point it's looking unlikely that Wieters will return before late May/early June.

Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that a return in late May or early June for Matt Wieters (elbow) "seems reasonable."

Advice: The Orioles haven't placed any timetable on Wieters, although they had been hoping when he went down with tendinitis in his surgically-repaired right elbow that he could return on May 1. That day has arrived and the catcher still isn't ready for a rehab assignment. He has been catching parts of extended spring training games, but a rehab assignment is thought to be another week or two away. Caleb Joseph will continue to fill in at catcher until Wieters is ready.
