Player Notes
Paul Goldschmidt had his third straight three-hit game in Wednesday's 9-1 win versus the Rockies, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Advice: He also walked and stole a base. His eighth inning RBI single pushed his MLB-leading RBI total to 20. Not only that, but Goldschmidt's five steals ranks seventh in the NL (he hasn't yet been caught). He's slashing .338/.446/.584. What else can we tell you that you don't already know? Dude's a hoss.

Paul Goldschmidt notched his second consecutive three-hit game, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in a win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Goldschmidt knocked in the Diamondbacks' first run in the first inning with a single and came around to score on Mark Trumbo's triple. In the eighth, he capped a three-run inning with a two-run double. Goldschmidt, as expected, has been deadly at the dish, batting .315/.425/.575 with five home runs and 19 RBI. The 2013 runner-up in NL MVP balloting, Goldschmidt could be on his way to another MVP-caliber season.

Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 in Saturday's loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Even Earth's mightiest heroes sometimes flail in futility against A.J. Burnett. That was the case with Goldschmidt, who came into the game slashing .298/.420/.596, with five home runs, 16 RBI and 11 runs scored. None of that mattered on Saturday. When you see guys like Goldschmidt or Mike Trout take the collar, your best response is to shrug and wait for the day. If he stays healthy (he played in just 109 games in 2014), he's on his way to a monster season.
