Player Notes
Kyle Gibson lost steam late in Sunday's loss to the Yankees, allowing six runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: Gibson pitched well through four innings, but after allowing a solo homer to Chase Headley in the fifth inning, he loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth on a single and a pair of walks. Three runs would come home in the frame before Gibson was pulled. An additional two runs scored on his line after he left the game. This marks back-to-back poor starts for the young right-hander, who has now allowed 12 runs in his last 10 1/3 innings. Recent struggles aside, his results for the season have mostly been positive, as he holds a 3.12 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 88/39 K/BB ratio over 124 innings. He'll face the Mariners at home in his next start.

Kyle Gibson was hammered for six runs in five innings of work, taking the loss on Tuesday versus the Angels.

Advice: Gibson wasn't pitching well, but limited the Halos to two runs over his first five innings. But four consecutive batters reached base to start the sixth before Gibson was pulled. Blaine Boyer relieved Gibson and immediately served up a home run to Chris Iannetta, allowing both inherited runners to score. The right-hander, overall, allowed 10 hits and a walk while striking out six. The outing balloons his ERA back up to 3.19 with a 1.29 WHIP and an 84/37 K/BB ratio in 118 2/3 innings. Gibson will face the Yankees at home in his next outing.
