Player Notes
Andrew Miller picked up his eighth save Monday with a scoreless ninth against the Astros.

Advice: Barring a trade, Miller will finish out the year as the Yankees' closer, making him a top-10 fantasy reliever. He has a 1.42 ERA this season.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the "Yankees' sense right now" is that Andrew Miller will not be traded ahead of the August 1 deadline.

Advice: But that could change over the next couple of days, depending on the offers that come in. New York got a terrific haul for impending free agent Aroldis Chapman on Monday, landing shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres, outfield prospect Billy McKinney, right-hander Adam Warren, and minor league outfielder Rashad Crawford from the Cubs. Miller, under contract through 2018, owns a dominant 1.45 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and 74/7 K/BB ratio in 43 1/3 innings this season for the fourth-place Yankees.

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that the Giants are "lingering" in the trade market for Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman.

Advice: While Crasnick notes that they are interested in the two Yankee bullpen aces, he adds the caveat that the team "might be out-gunned" by the Cubs and Nationals. In addition to Miller and Chapman, Crasnick relays that they have scouted the Phillies' Jeanmar Gomez and David Hernandez, plus Brewers relievers Will Smith and Jeremy Jeffress.

Andrew Miller is expected to be the Indians' top trade target, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Advice: Cleveland's bullpen consists of entirely right-handed arms and the Indians are intrigued by the possibility of using Miller in a setup role. Of course, the Yankees will be inundated with offers for Miller, who figures to be one of the most coveted relievers available at the trade deadline. The Nationals, Rangers and Cubs have all shown interest and more suitors should emerge as August 1 approaches.

Barry Svrluga of the Washington Post reports the Yankees had scouts in Syracuse this weekend.

Advice: Syracuse, of course, is home to the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate. Washington has shown keen interest in both Aroldis Chapman and Andrew Miller and it appears the Yankees are looking for a possible match in the Nationals' minor league system. ESPN's Buster Olney previously said the team would only part with Miller for "the best of the best prospects," and we assume the same goes for Chapman.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Andrew Miller is "on the radar" of the Rangers.

Advice: The Rangers are looking at both starters and relievers, although Wilson indicates that a reliever is less of a priority. The Yankees have essentially told Miller that they've have to be blown away by an offer in order to consider trading him, so it remains to be seen whether Texas will be willing to offer enough to pry the reliever away.
