Former Florida slugger Pete Alonso has hit his 200th career home run in MLB. He's the fourth-fastest to reach that threshold.
Sonny Gray extended his terrific start with St. Louis, Paul Goldschmidt hit an early two-run double and the Cardinals beat the New York Mets 7-4 on Saturday for their first three-game win streak this season.
It was in fourth inning of Game Four of the 2009 World Series. Ryan Howard of the Phillies was on second base with two out when Pedro Feliz singled sharply to left field. While Howard raced around third, Yankees left fielder Johnny Damon scooped up the ball and got off an accurate throw to the plate. In 2009, catchers were permitted to block the plate, and that's what Jorge Posada did.
