Player Notes
Bryce Harper is back in the Nationals' lineup Sunday.

Bryce Harper was pulled from Saturday's loss to the Cardinals for not running out a groundball.

Advice: Nationals manager Matt Williams called it a "lack of hustle." Harper has been bothered for over a week by quad discomfort, so you can understand why he might be taking it easy on routine groundouts. This is a truly odd situation, but one that should ultimately blow over. "I respect what he did," Harper told the media.

Bryce Harper (quad) is back in the Nationals' starting lineup Thursday night against the Cardinals.

Advice: Harper sat out Wednesday with tightness in his left quad. It obviously wasn't a serious issue. He'll hit second and playing left field against Adam Wainwright.

Bryce Harper was scratched from the Nationals' lineup Wednesday due to left quad tightness.

Advice: The Nationals say he's been dealing with tightness in the quad since Friday. It was bad enough that he was removed from Monday's game, so it's not an situation that should be taken too lightly. At this point he seems to be day-to-day, but the team may give him more rest over the next few days to get his legs right.

Bryce Harper (quad) was a late scratch from the Nationals' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Harper was originally in the lineup batting third, but he was removed from the lineup about an hour before first pitch. There's no indication what the reason is but he left Monday's game with quad tightness, so its likely connected to that. He was replaced in left field by Tyler Moore.

Bryce Harper (quad) is in the Nationals' starting lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

Advice: Harper left Monday's game with quad tightness, but the Nationals had a big lead at the time and were just being cautious. He's hitting second Tuesday vs. Miami.

Bryce Harper left Monday's game against the Marlins with quad tightness.

Advice: It's not viewed as a serious ailment, as the Nationals were likely just playing it safe since they had a big lead. Manager Matt Williams said that Harper could be back in the lineup Tuesday.
