BLS premiere: the '08 MLB Playoffs ad, now with less Dane Cook

While Kaduk is off galavanting around the Bronx, here's this year's Dane Cook-less FOX/TBS postseason baseball commercial. Try enjoying it this first time around, because you're about to see it on an endless loop over the next three months or so.

My take? Somewhat lame, but you've got to respect the relatively restrained performance from (and damn fine batting stroke of) that kid from Old School. Plus, the MLBlogs tie-in wasn't bad either. What's yours?

    I think that Kirk Gibson is the son of Chuck Norris' beard, that's how tough he is. This commercial is still better than Dane Cook's frantic raving about baseball, I heard that he doesn't even like baseball.

    I think my favorite part is when they say "another jaw dropping moment" right as Matt Holiday smokes his face on the ground!!

    These classic clips are starting to get a little tired. If you didn't like baseball before seeing the commercial, it's not enough to convince you to watch the postseason.

    Thank god they got rid of Dane "I'm not funny now that I sold my soul" Cook! My guess is he was too busy doing 'Good Luck Chuck 2' or 'Emloyee of the Month 2' or worst of all 'Dan in Real Life 2'. What a sellout.
    This is still a pretty lame commercial though and I agree with Saro in that these highlights are a little tiring to see 100s of times every season. Seems to me that these highlights lose their luster when they're shoved down your throat on a daily basis.
    And yes, Holliday did touch homeplate in his 'jaw-dropping moment'.

    Seems to be a replay of prior commercials with a different narrator and yes, some of the highlights are a bit tired.
