Big League Stew - MLB

Judging from his first few weeks in SoCal, Manny Ramirez is going to be considered the most popular Dodger in Chavez Ravine every night until he bolts for the Yankees in the offseason.

Well, maybe every night except for tonight.

That's because the moment the Dodger Stadium gates open and the 50,000 entrants start receiving their Joe Beimel Bobbleheads on Joe Beimel Bobblehead Day, the left-handed reliever with the long hair but short ERA (1.93)  will reassume his position as the most popular Dodger.

(Somewhere this guy is in the fetal position and foaming at the mouth.)

Honestly, though, I love the fact that Beimel won a fan vote to decide which bobblehead would be given away tonight. As a fan of bobbleheads myself, I'll definitely be bidding when hundreds of them hit eBay later in the week. (Actually, there are already a few listed.)

Anway, is anyone out there holding tickets to tonight's game? If so, what'll you take in trade?

I read somewhere that Beimel's mom & family recruited his town to vote for him so that he'd get his own bobblehead. I think it was on the Dodgers' official website when they had a video interview of him.
I went to last night's game and am in posession of one Joe Beimel Bobblehead, btw. I'll ship it to you, 'Duk, if you just get me a couple tickets to see the Dodgers beat the Giants on September 20th. It doesn't matter where they're at, as long as you follow my advice on the Big Ballpark Review. :D
