Texans release running back Gerrid Doaks

The Texans released running back Gerrid Doaks as they officially signed seven draft selections and six undrafted rookies in advance of their rookie minicamp. Doaks is a former Miami Dolphins seventh-round draft pick from Cincinnati. Doaks (5-foot-11 228 pounds) spent the past two seasons with the Texans on their practice squad before signing a reserve-future deal in January. The Texans' roster includes starting running back Joe Mixon, backups Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale and rookie Jawhar Jordan.
