3 years later: Grading the 2021 Bears draft class

Draft week is finally here, and all eyes are on the Chicago Bears as they prepare to usher in a new era when they will presumably select quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick by way of the Carolina Panthers. It's actually pretty similar to what took place during the 2021 NFL Draft three years ago, a class that now grades out much differently than one might have expected early on. Three years ago, the Bears made a couple of bold moves in hopes of finding multiple cornerstones on offense, first by trading up in the first round to select quarterback Justin Fields, then by doing the same in the second round to nab offensive lineman Teven Jenkins.
