When you head to the track for a day at the races, you're typically handed a race program full of useful information upon entry. In addition to the more basic details like post times and expected odds, the more thorough programs may provide some data about how the horses in question tend to perform in various conditions — a wet track for instance. But nowhere in the analysis do they ever speculate what might happen to your favorite thoroughbred while running through sprinklers. Which is exactly what happened on the final turn at Bathurst Racecourse on an otherwise sunny day in southeast Australia. Approaching the home stretch on the eighth and final race of the day, riders were forced to run their horses straight through multiple blasts of water set off by a malfunctioning sprinkler system. Luckily the horses were able to keep their feet through the man-made storm but the lead horse, Run Bullet Run, appeared to take the brunt of the elements and couldn't seem to recover. To make matters worse, the racetrack was forced to issue a refund to everyone who didn't win when Path to Freedom emerged victorious from the complicated race by a nose.
The year of the comeback continues in the NBA, as Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook returned to the court for the first time since tearing his lateral meniscus against the Houston Rockets in the 2013 NBA Playoffs. Westbrook returned weeks ahead of schedule and chipped in 22 points in the Thunder's 103-96 win over the Phoenix Suns.

Finally in football, Sunday night's game at Reliant Stadium might go down as the most dramatic 60 minutes of the season. The Houston Texans entered the game as one of the more maligned offenses in the NFL, but fill-in quarterback Case Keenum surprised the record crowd of 71,778 at Reliant Stadium by throwing 3 TDs to Andre Johnson in the first half. Heading into the locker room at halftime with their biggest lead of the season, coach Gary Kubiak collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital. Kubiak was reported to be in stable condition, but his team fell apart in the second half, squandering an 18-point lead to Andrew Luck and Co. The Indianapolis Colts would ultimately win the stunner 27-24.
