Fan gets wedged between rows attempting to catch foul ball

Once upon a time, Eric Wedge skippered the Cleveland Indians. The former big league catcher had a successful run with the Tribe that included winning the 2007 American League Manager of the Year award. But for one Cleveland fan Thursday, hearing the word "wedge" at Progressive Field didn't necessarily stir fond memories.

Minnesota Twins left fielder Chris Parmelee fouled off a Bryan Shaw pitch in the eighth inning that ended up behind the home dugout on the third-base side. A man in the second row thought he had a bead on it. Unfortunately, he didn't come up with it. But he did end up falling backward and getting wedged between rows. Oh well. At least the Indians won 2-0.

Hail Mary

Moving to college football, Houston nearly pulled off a miracle against No. 25 BYU thanks to a play at the end of the first half. Down 23-0 early in the second quarter, Houston capped a mini-comeback with a Hail Mary pass from quarterback John O'Korn to wide receiver Daniel Spencer with no time remaining. The score made it 23-15 at the break. BYU ultimately hung on for a 33-25 victory — but what a moment.

Peacemaker

Finally, Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski found himself in the middle of a skirmish at the end of the Americans' 96-68 semifinal victory over Lithuania in the FIBA World Cup.
