Defenses that will earn Fantasy hardware in Week 16

Looking for a fantasy defense to help your championship cause in Week 16? Use the Empire State as your guide, as in the offenses hailing from the state of New York – Giants, Jets and Buffalo. Detroit gets the benefit of hosting the most generous of all opposing offenses, for fantasy purposes. Eli Manning is coming off a five-pick effort against Seattle, adding to his NFL-high INT mark (26). Miami will travel to Buffalo as a top 15 fantasy defense for the season, and it will face a Bills offense that has coughed up the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Finally, Cleveland will have the advantage of facing a Geno Smith-led Jets offense that has allowed more fantasy points to opposing defenses than all but the Giants. And the weather on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey calls for thunderstorms and wind, always a bonus for a defense. All three of these D units are widely available still in Yahoo! Leagues, giving defense streamers plenty of options this week.

For flex spot hunters, news that Ben Tate will be out this week with a rib injury vaults Houston backup running back Dennis Johnson into the Week 16 conversation. Thanks in large part to 19 touchdowns allowed to running backs, Denver sits among the top 10 most generous defenses to the RB position in fantasy. Johnson has top 30 upside at running back this week and can be had in nearly 90 percent of Yahoo! Leagues.
