Floyd Mayweather says he won $75,000 betting on UConn

Floyd Mayweather loves to bet on sports, and some of the stories that have sprung up around his gambling habits border on the absurd. Some of the dubious claims in recent weeks the following: Mayweather bet $10 million on the Broncos to win the Super Bowl! Mayweather bet $8 million on Kentucky over Wisconsin! Maybe yes, maybe (probably) no.

But it sure seems like he won a nice little sum of money betting on UConn over the last few days:

He took the underdog Huskies — underhuskies? — twice, both at halftime against Florida and before the championship showdown.

Mayweather loves to tout his betting prowess; a couple years back, Grantland estimated that he tweeted 46 betting slips with winnings of $3.8 million between August 2010 and February 2012, with exactly zero losers. Hmm.

Mayweather is scheduled to fight Marcos Maidana on May 3 in Las Vegas, and is an overwhelming favorite. Presumably Mayweather will not back the underdog in that fight.
