England Euro 2016 squad: Roy Hodgson makes poor choices in defence and midfield

England manager Roy Hodgson paid such care and attention to his Euro 2016 squad section that he delayed the announcement of the provisional 26-man squad until Monday.

Now, we are privy to the men who are likely to represent the Three Lions at Euro 2016, and there are many positives to be drawn from the squad selection.

However, there are also several troubling issues with Hodgson’s choices: a lack of balance, defensive risk-taking and some puzzling selection in midfield are the primary causes of concern.
