Belgium played their first World Cup match in 12 years and celebrated with a 2-1 comeback victory over Algeria to take the lead in Group H. Dries Mertens scored the winning goal for the Red Devils’ after Marouane Fellaini tied the match in the 70th minute.

Mertens’ goal didn’t just help Belgium earn three points, it also allowed him to win a wager he had with his dad.

The two made a bet before the World Cup that if the Belgium midfielder scored, he would get to shave off dad’s mustache. After the match Tuesday, Mertens did just that.

What's the next step here? Does dad's hair go next if Mertens scores another winner? A complete waxing should Belgium win the World Cup? The motivation has worked once, so they might as well try it again.
