Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck getting an MRI

The Tennessee Titans managed to keep things close, but ultimately lost 22-17 to the New Orleans Saints Sunday. Along the way, for good chunks of time, the team lost the services of quarterbacks Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker, wide receiver Nate Washington, linebackers Akeem Ayers and Gerald McRath, running back Javon Ringer, and safety Anthony Smith.

"It's a mentality — these guys have the warrior mentality," Washington said, according to the Tennessean. "Everybody in this locker room is playing with nicks and bangs. We had a couple more guys go down today … but these guys are giving everything they have.""

Hasselbeck, though, may need to take a rest. According to the paper, Hasselbeck said that "he felt something pop in his left calf as he stepped forward to go after a deflected pass in the second quarter." He hopes that it is only a strained muscle but will undergo an MRI Monday.

"The fact that he was able to go back in and at least do a little something, move around a little bit, was at least a positive," Coach Mike Munchak said, the Tennessean reports. "We'll see how he is. At first we thought it was worse."
