Falcons letting DE John Abraham go?

Defensive end John Abraham has been with the Atlanta Falcons since 2006, but it appears that his time with the team may be over. The word is that Abraham will be allowed to test free agency, according to the ESPN.

The 33-year-old led Atlanta with 9.5 sacks last year and has 58.5 of them since coming to Atlanta from the New York Jets. The site notes that the four-time Pro Bowler played only on a part-time basis last season while dealing with lingering injuries.

Plus, the site notes, the Falcons have Ray Edwards and Lawrence Sidbury on the roster and will likely try to re-sign Kroy Biermann. Even with those three, the site notes, the Falcons probably will add a pass rusher in the draft or free agency.
