Linus Klasen spin-o-rama shootout goal: Best of 2013?

This is the danger of publishing year-end lists before the calendar turns: Something happens that might have you rearranging the top 10.

Like, for example, Linus Klasen of Sweden scoring this insanely good shootout goal against the Czech Republic in the Channel One Cup on Saturday, one day after our top 10 shootout goals of the season:

Wow. That’s Alexander Salak – who went from the Florida Panthers to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Michael Frolik trade in 2011 – as the goalie whose body moved one way while his eyes tracked the puck sliding in behind him, courtesy of that incredible move by Klasen.

Said Salak after the game, via iSport: "I thought about a poke check. Then he sent it between his legs, I stood frozen and thought, 'What's this? I don't like it.'" (Via Milan Pospech.)

In fact, Klasen is no stranger to incredible moves in the shootout or on penalty shots. There was this move against Frolunda in 2010:

The pantheon of YouTube highlight sensations includes Linus Omark, Rob Schremp and Tomas Jurco. It’s time Linus Klasen joins that digital domain of dominance.
