Michal Neuvirth makes incredible game-winning save at goal line (Video)
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth made a phenomenal save with time running out in his team’s 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild.
With the Wild’s net empty for an extra attacker forward Charlie Coyle fired a shot at the Philadelphia net. Minnesota players on the ice started celebrating – until they saw Neuvirth stopped the puck near his goal line with 2.6 seconds left.

“Especially with the timing, it’s got to be one of the best saves I’ve ever made,” Neuvirth said according to the Courier-Post. “I never give up on the puck and it worked out this time. I’m really happy we closed out the game. We’ve been having tough times in the last seconds to close out games. We found a way tonight.”
Said Wild interim coach John Torchetti, “We missed this game by half an inch. Now we’ve got to give another inch more.”
The Wild have lost two games in a row after winning their first four under Torchetti. Minnesota has 64 points – four back of the Colorado Avalanche for the final Western Conference Wild Card spot. Thursday’s game against the Flyers was one of three in hand on the Avs for the Wild.
With the win, the Flyers now have 65 points and have moved within three points of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
