Jordie Benn loses Super Bowl bet, has beard shaved by Tyler Seguin (Video)

Betting on the Super Bowl is always fun. If your team isn’t involved it’s a good way to keep some interest in “The Big Game,” even if it’s a blowout like a lot of them turn out to be.

But for Jordie Benn and Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars, the game meant something. Benn’s Seattle Seahawks were gunning for their second straight Lombardi Trophy, while Seguin’s adopted New England Patriots were trying to finally win a Super Bowl where they don’t have to go through the playoff juggernaut that is the New York Football Giants.

The bet was simple: Seattle wins, Seguin gets his head shaved. New England prevails, Benn has to shave the monstrous beard that he’s been growing for about a year.

Here's the before picture of Benn:

Well, we all know what happened, and we do wish there was someone recording Benn’s reaction when Russell Wilson dropped back and threw that interception, rather than do what everyone in the world expected and hand off to Marshawn Lynch for the winning touchdown.

On Monday, Benn paid up his bet, and in front of teammates and media Seguin broke out the buzzer:

Here’s video via Mark Stepneski of the Stars (warning: there may be a few naughty words in the background).

We imagine Benn went into the bathroom and shaved off the rest himself while uttering, "Thanks for nothing, Pete Carroll" the entire time.
