The Washington State flag craze grows as one is at the Winter Olympics (Photo)

Washington State is representing at the Olympics.

After a Washington State flag was spotted in the background of ESPN's Super Bowl coverage, a Cougar flag was behind NBC's Today show Olympic broadcast this week.

The flag tradition started for ESPN's College Game Day and continues through every college football season. Just less than two weeks ago, it expanded to New York City for the Super Bowl and it's now halfway across the world.

If this Reddit thread is any indication, a Wazzu flag may be making a trek to the Southern Hemisphere and Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

Maybe it's all a master plan for a Mike Leach pirate-themed movement to dominate the world?
