Someone spelled out “SAM” in the snow at Faurot Field at Mizzou in support of Michael Sam (Photo)

The University of Missouri community has wholly embraced DE Michael Sam after he revealed that he was gay Sunday evening.

If you need an example, just look what someone did in the snow at Faurot Field.

The rock M in the north end zone at the stadium is a Missouri staple, so an enterprising person took the opportunity to spell out a "S" and "A" next to the "M." And if we must say, those letters are really well done. It took some planning.

As of now, Sam is positioned to become the first openly gay player in the NFL. According to Out Sports' Cyd Zeigler, his announcement "is the most significant coming out in sports."

In the NFL's hyper-speed world, the discussion surrounding Sam has shifted to his draft status and if it will be affected by his announcement, despite evidence that many NFL teams knew before Sunday evening. However, if the support that Sam has received from his teammates throughout the 2013 season and from those around Mizzou is any indication, it's a massive overreaction.
