It looks like Baylor could be paying Art Briles a hefty sum whether or not he coaches again at the school.
And all signs point to him not coaching at Baylor, as any possible movements to keep Briles for the 2017 season aren't reportedly happening. Briles was suspended with intent to terminate by the school following the release of the Pepper Hamilton independent investigation in May.
According to a report from Scout regarding Briles' non-future at the school, a settlement between the coach and school could be about half the value of his contract. Briles had 8 years and "nearly" $40 million left on his deal when he was fired, err, suspended.

A Baylor news station attempted to talk with the school's interim president and when he declined an interview, said it was asked to leave the campus.
