Rice unveils patriotic helmets for Armed Forces Bowl

Rice has unveiled a new helmet to salute the Armed Forces during the Dec. 29 Armed Forces Bowl against Air Force.

The helmets, which are similar to the ones the Owls wore as a tribute for 9/11 last year, feature the Owls “R” logo as an American Flag and a Stars and Stripes design running down the middle of the helmet. The domes the Owls wore to commemorate 9/11 were missing the stripe.

The word “Rice” at the front of the helmet also has the American Flag look.

No word on if Rice is making changes to any other parts of its uniforms, but this is a nice start.
