Report: No, Charlie Strong is not interested in Miami job

After a report said Miami officials believed Charlie Strong would be interested in the school's open head coaching position, another report says Strong has no interest.

The Dallas Morning News cited a source who said Strong would not consider moving to Miami Thursday afternoon.

But the source indicated that Strong, who strongly denied interest initially, has not changed his mind. Strong is "very happy" at Texas, the source said.

Strong, a former Florida assistant, has direct ties to the area so it's logical his name would be mentioned even if it doesn't make much sense. Strong was hired at Texas before the 2014 season and there haven't been any public statements of a lack of support after the school parted ways with athletic director Steve Patterson.

Don't be surprised if this isn't the last mention of Strong and Miami together despite Strong's denial. Remember the Nick Saban and Texas rumors in late 2013 before Strong was hired? Strong-to-Miami may not be in the same class as the persistent Saban chatter, but we have a feeling this may not completely go away until Miami hires a new coach. A coach who likely isn't named Charlie Strong.

Texas is 4-5 in 2015 and plays West Virginia on Saturday.
