Michigan unveils new(ish) uniforms for the Outback Bowl

Michigan will be sporting new uniforms for the Outback Bowl against South Carolina and they're not all that exciting.

Sorry. I know anytime a tradition-rich program like Michigan changes its uniforms we're supposed to "Oooo" and "Ahhh," but these are just kind of OK.

The jerseys are white with blue across the shoulders and sleeves with a block "M" on each sleeve. The phrase "It's Great To Be A Michigan Wolverine," is stitched into the inside neck line. The pants are traditional maize.

The Wolverines' helmet is the traditional blue with the maize wings, only the blue is matte and not shiny like usual.

The jerseys actually aren't that different from the ones the Wolverines wore against Alabama to open the season. Except instead of the blue stripe across the top, the Bama uniforms featured a yellow stripe and the numbers were blue. Maybe Michigan changed the color considering how that game turned out.

Michigan has had some interesting uniforms in the past for special games — usually against rivals Ohio State or Michigan State — but these are pretty bland by comparison. They're not terrible, they're not amazing, they're just different.

And if the offensive uniforms don't have a special Jadeveon Clowney repellent sprayed onto the fabric, not sure they're going to make a difference in the outcome of the game.
