Former top RB Derrick Green not with Michigan at Citrus Bowl

Michigan junior tailback Derrick Green did not make the trip with the Wolverines to the Citrus Bowl, but coach Jim Harbaugh said he’s still with the team.

This is the fourth consecutive game Green has not dressed.

"It's an internal matter," Harbaugh told media after Sunday's practice.

Green is a former five-star recruit and the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit from the 2013 class, according to Rivals.com. He had 47 carries for 157 yards this season.

Green arrived at Michigan two years ago 20 pounds overweight and then suffered an ankle injury during preseason camp. He managed 83 carries for 270 yards that year.

In 2014, Green was the team’s starter and managed 82 carries for 471 yards in six games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury at Rutgers.
