EMU parts ways with defensive coordinator Brad McCaslin
Eastern Michigan is making a change at defensive coordinator.
The team announced Tuesday that it would be looking for a replacement for Brad McCaslin. The Eagles' final game of the season was Friday, Nov. 27.
"Coach McCaslin has worked incredibly hard these past two years to make our football program better," EMU coach Chris Creighton said in a statement. "He is an outstanding coach and a great person that has been an integral part in building our solid foundation. We are now making some schematic changes on defense and with that a change in leadership at the coordinator position. This has been a very difficult decision. We wish him and his family nothing but the best moving forward."
McCaslin came to Eastern Michigan with Creighton before the 2014 season. The two previously coached at Drake together. McCaslin was also Eastern Michigan's linebackers coach.
The Eagles finished the 2015 season 1-11 after a 2-10 campaign in 2014. EMU's only 2015 win came in Week 2 against Wyoming. The Eagles were No. 122 out of 127 teams in total defense. The team gave up 519 yards per game (and over seven yards per play) and 68 touchdowns.
